PLAYGROUND SAFETY AUDITS

As one of the original members of the ASTM Playground Safety Standard Committee, Steve Lauzun, landscape architect and the owner of Parkitects, has been part of the playground safety world since the early nineties.  The interest in safe playgrounds prompted Parkitects to unveil a computerized safety audit system that will streamline the audit and report process, allowing our on-staff playground safety inspector to create comprehensive, yet easy to understand reports.

Parkitects will perform a safety audit on play equipment by any manufacturer installed throughout New York State.  Our safety auditor has been certified in playground safety inspections for 7 years, and is a former New York State DEC recreation supervisor.  The safety audit program does not replace our free on-call inspections for Landscape Structures equipment only.

Our automated database allows for quick turn-around of results.  You will receive a report on CD of all items inspected for compliance to CPSC & ASTM code. The report includes an inventory, with pictures, of all equipment in the play area, and written reports with photographs of non-compliant items, categorized by the severity of the safety concern.  With your approval, instant minor field repairs will be completed, and pricing for larger repair items will accompany your report. Upon request, Parkitects will conduct presentations for your staff on playground maintenance and hazard identification (CEU credits pending).
